Different Materials Equals A Different Process

As you look around and see other people’s shoes you see many different materials. If there was just one material that would be used for a shoe then shoes would be BORING. All the different materials gives shoes a different kind of flare and style that makes them unique. Of course these materials can not be cleaned the same way. One technique for cleaning might mess up a different shoe completely because of the different material.

Also with there being different materials that’s used on shoes there are also different types of shoes for different activities. Shoes for many types of uses range from, Athletic, Boots, and Dress and Casual.  Dress and Casual shoes uses WAY different types of materials compared to Athletic so the cleaning process are different.

I was looking online to see how to clean different types of shoes for different materials and I’m here to share with whoever is reading.

For rubber shoes, or the rubber soles of the shoes you can use a toothbrush and toothpaste. Also you can check my previous posts for a brief and easy way on how to clean rubber soles.

Canvas shoes are little tougher than suede so they will be a little easier to clean.  

• ·         You can use a wash cloth with some detergent or toothpaste and rub around the dirty area of it.
• ·         Once you do that you can also spray on some type of fabric protector you can buy from your local store.

One thing good about canvas shoes you can also use the washing machine which makes life a LOT easier.

·         Put your shoes in a pillow case or if you want just put them in the washer.

• ·         Add detergent and use the warm cycle.
• ·         DO NOT put your shoes in the dryer because they may morph into a different shape, just let them air dry.
